About Michell Givens
Michell Mimi Givens is a 59 year-young, adventuresome wife, mother, grandmother, artist, and teacher who dreams of painting even when shes wide awake, and who enjoys art as a sacred hobby. She lives with the love of her life, husband Kevin, who shares her fascination with Floridas landscape, from the beaches to the wilderness. Mimi has four beautiful grown children who never cease to amaze her: Adam, Raymond and his wife Ashleigh, Jennifer and husband, Reinaldo, and their sons David and Carlos, and Brittany. Mimi's inspiration springs from her faith in God, her love of nature, and her and Kevin's journeys. From the mountains of Tennessee to the hills of Sicily and beaches in Florida, there is beauty to behold everywhere if we look with grateful eyes. Mimi usually paints at home and is inspired by great naturalist painters such as Stephen Lyman. Her artwork has sold in RI and here in Florida. She displays her art through Brevard Cultural Alliance and local galleries. Mimi graduated from Harvard with an undergraduate degree in Economics and Literature, earned a Masters in Teaching from Rhode Island College, and currently teaches grade seven Writing and English at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. She has been painting for about thirteen years and welcomes all inquiries by new friends. May life always be colorful, may our hearts always be grateful! God bless!
